Geek Impulse Consulting

We identify what the project cannot lose and where the current version has already lost it.

Games and adaptations often reach a polished draft that no longer plays or films the way the pitch promised. The core loop gets explained instead of played. The film keeps the look and drops the pressure. Extra notes pile up and the original experience gets thinner.

We review the build, the script, or the treatment. You get a written report: what the experience depends on, where that has been weakened, and what to keep, cut, or leave.

Who this is for

Independent teams, mid-size studios, and producers on a game-to-film or film-to-game handoff who need a decision this month and not another open production seat.

Game review

  • Does the core fantasy and loop still work?
  • Written report and a 60-minute review. 10–15 business days.
  • Independent $3,500 · Mid-size $6,500

Adaptation review

  • What must carry between game and film or series.
  • Report plus a one-page brief production can hand to a director. 12–18 business days.
  • Independent $5,500 · Mid-size $9,500

Go / no-go

  • Advance this version, delay it, or stop.
  • Four to six pages and a 45-minute call. 5–8 business days.
  • Independent $1,800 · Mid-size $3,000

How teams are classified

  • Independent = one project, no public parent company.
  • Mid-size = a named publisher, a studio with a slate, or an IP that already has a release date.
  • Publisher and named-IP work is quoted from the mid-size fee up.

Method

  1. Intent: what the project claims to be, in one sentence.
  2. Dependencies: the three to five systems or scenes the experience fails without.
  3. Findings: where the current draft or build has flattened those elements. Cited.
  4. Keep / Cut / Leave: a list production can use the following week.

What you receive

One reviewer. A written report. A fixed schedule and hour cap. No open-ended production seat.
A one-page Decision Page so a producer can read the conclusion first.

A review meeting. Then the engagement ends unless you commission a follow-on sprint on items already named.

Confidential by default. Public credit only with written approval.

Fifty percent to begin. Balance due on delivery of the PDF. One revision pass for factual corrections.

Schedule assumes materials arrive on day one and this is the only active engagement. If that cannot be met, the start date moves. The fee does not.

We do not take

Open-ended embedding. Briefs that say “make it work for everyone.” Reviews with no build or script. Public use of unreleased material.
