There is a fun little Easter egg for thePS4 exclusive God of War, which is now featuring a wide range of new additions to the series, from a new combat system, new weapons, and even a new AI companion. There is also a new narrative focus to the game along with new RPG elements, including gear that you can collect and equip. There are a ton of new items, but recently there have been a handful of items that are tied with a very obvious reference to Marvel’s new movie, Avengers: Infinity War.

Infinity War’s storyline is centered around a villain known as Thanos and his pursuit of the six Infinity Stones. He plans to use these stones and embed them into his Infinity Gauntlet and this will the grant him god-like powers. While lacking the same level of overwhelming control over the universe, Kratos can get his hands on the Infinity Gauntlet and stone-inspired items during his travels in God of War.

In God of War, the Infinity Gauntlet takes the form of a talisman known as the Shattered Gauntlet of Ages. The description for this gauntlet states, “An ancient relic of Hel deemed tie powerful to remain whole, fragments of its former strength lie scattered throughout the realms…”

In addition, there are also enchantments — gems that can be inserted into an item to provide a buff in reference to the Infinity Stones. Here are the names of the six Infinity Stones that appear to be connected:

  • Andvari’s Soul – Soul Stone
  • Asgard’s Shard of Existence – Reality Stone
  • Eye of the Outer Realm – Space Stone
  • Ivaldi’s Corrupted Mind – Mind Stone
  • Muspelheim Eye of Power – Power Stone
  • Njord’s Temporal Stone – Time Stone

When the Shattered Gauntlet of Ages is fully upgraded, it can hold only have 3 embedded stones, unlike the Infinity Gauntlet that can hold all 6. When the Shattered Gauntlet of Ages has not been augmented by the stones it appears to be slightly unremarkable. However, if you do augment the gauntlet it will gain the ability to shoot a purple beam at your enemies. These specific stones have a more elaborate effect in comparison to using other enchantments slotted into the item.

If you would like to obtain the  Shattered Gauntlet of Ages, you will need to complete the quest Family Business, you will receive this quest from the dwarf Sindri. Toward the end of the quest, when you find the remains of the dead men on the boat, a Traveler will attack you. Once you defeat him you will receive the talisman.

Here is a list of quests and tasks for getting each of the six enchantments:

  • Andvari’s Soul – Complete Brok’s Deus Ex Malachite Favor

  • Asgard’s Shard of Existence – Defeat Valkyrie Rota in Helheim
  • Eye of the Outer Realm – Can be found in Hidden Chamber of Odin in Helheim (Note: you will only get one chance to receive this enchantment!)
  • Ivaldi’s Corrupted Mind – Defeat Valkyrie Olrun in Alfheim
  • Muspelheim Eye of Power – Purchase at the Muspelheim Shop
  • Njord’s Temporal Stone – Defeat the Valkyrie Queen
