Amazon’s Lord Of The Rings TV Show Has Wrapped Its Filming. There is Still no Release Date Yet Either.
The Lord of the Rings TV show may have stopped shooting at the beginning of 2020 as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, but news about the huge Amazon Prime series has slowly spread to the internet. There have been multiple casting announcements and even a few teaser images released by the director of the first episode, J.A. Bayona.
As for the content of the show itself, it will be set in the Second Era, which is a 3,441-year span that covered major events such as the forging of the Rings of Power, including the One Ring; the Sauron Invasion, the beginning of the Ringwraiths, and the sinking of the island of Numenor into the ocean.
It was also during the Second Age that the Elven City of Rivendell formed into a great battle where men, elves, and dwarves battled together for the first time against Sauron.
Amazon has already announced that the series will last more than one season, so it is likely that Bayona will be able to bring his inner-kiwi out again soon. For now, though, we’re closer than ever to actually get a first look at the series. Here at Geek Impulse, we are hoping it’s worth the wait!
