American Mcgee’s Alice is Getting a Unique and Confident TV Series Adaptation by X-Men screenwriter David Hayter

American Mcgee's Alice

Ted Field’s Radar Pictures and Abandon Entertainment announced at the end of January that American McGee’s Alice is being turned into a TV show adaptation, with David Hayter poised to write, produce, and showrun the production. The game itself has had a rocky journey over the decades, with two titles, Alice (2000) and Alice: Madness Returns (2011), and a third now in a Patreon state of limbo.

American McGee’s Alice and Alice: Madness Returns game series is a groundbreaking reimagining of the classic tale. It takes you into the heart of a corrupted Wonderland and throws light into shadowy corners the world has never seen. I am beyond excited to bring this world of madness and wonder to a global audience,” Hayter said in a statement.

The television adaptation of American McGee’s Alice is currently in the works, with David Hayter engaged as showrunner. There has been no announcement of the future show’s broadcaster or streaming platform, nor of a release date or timeframe. Hayter will write and publish the series in cooperation with Radar Pictures and Abandon Entertainment, per release. After creating and designing the games Doom and Quake, McGee created Alice and produced Alice: Madness Returns, Akaneiro: Demon Hunters, and Grimm under his own company, Spicy Horse Games in Shanghai. “”David Hayter combines inspiration, expertise, and stealth sneaking talents honed from successful missions in cinema, TV, and video games,” American McGee said in a statement, “a unique mix sure to make this trip into Wonderland a triumph for the franchise and the fans.” I’m thrilled to be working with him, and I know the Alice fans will adore him.”
