Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Game Play Leaks Online

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla creator Ubisoft has made numerous demands for copyright to take down leaked footage of their next-generation release.
  • Thirty minutes of game play was uploaded over the weekend.
  • Ubisoft Scrambles to make copyright claims of online footage
  • The footage posted is quite low-resolution, there are various visual bugs present

Thirty minutes of gameplay footage leaked from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is circulating around the internet, despite attempts by Ubisoft to remove the videos. The footage is from the game’s work-in – progress development, and comes a few days ahead of Ubisoft Forward’s livestream this Sunday. Seems like this happens a lot these days right?

The footage, which is labeled “work in progress” begins with the main character, Eivor, riding a horse through a village, on a mission called “A Fury from the Sea.” This leads into a boat-based assault on “Burgh Castle” — showcasing both land and sea combat. The video ends with a brief look at the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla menus, particularly the skill tree and inventory slots. The skill tree seems to be designed to mimic constellations in the night sky and our first taste of Raven Sight, the power of Eivor to identify objects and enemies close to the old Eagle Vision.

Perhaps this will be addressed by Ubisoft this weekend. The event is intended to highlight exclusive news and updates about the title, and we hoped to see more of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. We could see a less grainy version of the game play video which would be great. The game is expected to be released on Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X this holiday season.

Versions of the footage are currently being taken down from YouTube, though it is still watchable via Streamable at the time of writing. (Part two of that video is here, and part three is here.)
