The new Warner Bros. Batman Gotham Knights game looks to connect with The Batman film.
From Warner Bros. Games Montréal, Batman Gotham Knights is its new title. The developer announced the game would be published later this year, but it did not specify the platforms on which the game would be released. The studio also provided a teaser and plenty of gameplay for its upcoming release alongside the announcement.
There are at least 4 playable characters at the moment. The Gotham Knights meet to carry the torch of the Dark Knight because the story takes place after he dies. During an interview, Warner Bros. announced that Gotham knights would feature “a whole host of playable characters,” but much of the footage so far revolves around Batgirl.
It’s an original story. Although you’ll see more than a few familiar faces and locations, Gotham Knight tells a story entirely of its own, not based on any recent comic book stories. The Comics have 74 issues. If you to learn more about the Batman: Gotham Knights Comic Book Series, Go Here.
There is going to be a heavy focus on The Court of Owls. One of the main enemies in the game will be the Court of Owls. The group is a very new addition to the plot of DC comics, which sees Batman facing off against the organized crime gang.
There will definitely be a few villains standing between the Gotham Knights and Gotham City’s protection, but we know that one of them is Mr. Freeze, a cryogenics specialist and the product of a laboratory mishap that left him confined to a survival cryogenic suit.
The welcome addition of easy, drop-in co-op. The method of entering and leaving Gotham Knights co-op sessions appears smooth, with a message of “ROBIN joined the session” popping up as another player joins the action or plot without interruption. Co-op is restricted to only two players at a time, despite the fact that it would seem the logical choice to make a four-player co-op an option considering the number of available characters.
Each character from Gotham Knights will have their own unique skills and skill trees. Redding (creative director) said one of the trickier aspects of creating Gotham Knights was balancing each character for co-op, but making each character feel different from the next is crucial to the plot.
