Japan Ranks 2nd as The Most Popular Destination For Those Moving Abroad

Japan Ranks 2nd

According to global search results, Japan ranks 2nd only behind Canada as the location most people want to work and live.

Considering that Tokyo is one of the top five cities in the world, we’re never shocked to hear people say they want to move to Japan. Remitly’s latest list, a global money transfer app, showed how many people around the world want to live and work here. Interestingly, amid the coronavirus pandemic, there has been a spike in internet searches on ways to travel overseas. And based on that info, Remitly found that Japan is the second most common country people want to migrate to.

Out of the search data gathered from 101 countries, Japan Ranks 2nd just behind Canada, followed (in order) by Spain, Germany, and Qatar, making it the top five countries on the chart.

Japan is considered to be a very desirable destination for people in 13 countries and regions around the world. When taking a closer look at the ranking, it reveals that although Japan ranks 2nd overall, it is the first preference for citizens from the United States and Canada, Australia, and much of Southeast Asia. Countries such as Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Indonesia, Cambodia, and the Philippines have Japan at the top of their chart. As for Japan itself, it seems like the locals here would most prefer to move to the United Kingdom.

Japan also ranked in the top ten in the 2020 Global Peace Index for its stability, magnificent scenery, and community, making it a strong choice for people looking to make a major move. Here at Geek Impulse, the food and drink scene vibes on their own are a decent excuse to live here.
