Kevin Smith will be heading up a new He Man anime series for Netflix and act as showrunner for the newly announced Masters of the Universe: Revelation.
Netflix has partnered up with the filmmaker of Clerks and Mallrats, Kevin Smith. Smith will be creating a limited He Man Anime series entitled Masters of the Universe: Revelation. Kevin will serve as the projects showrunner as well as executive producer. He unveiled this during the annual Power-Con convention. This series will be a spinoff from the 1980’s Masters of the Universe. It will pick up where the show left off and feature He-man’s sister.
This will make fans excited due to the untimely and unresolved story line from the original show. featuring familiar characters and what Smith says could be “the final battle between He-Man and Skeletor.”Mattel Television is producing the series, while Powerhouse Animation is doing the animation for it. Powerhouse is the same studio behind Netflix’s Castlevania, so there is the hope we will be getting a really great He-Man Anime show. There is no word yet from Netflix as to the exact date we can expect the show to air.
I’m Eternia-ly grateful to Mattel TV and Netflix for entrusting me with not only the secrets of Grayskull, but also their entire Universe.
In Revelation, we pick up right where the classic era left off to tell an epic tale of what may be the final battle between He-Man and Skeletor! Brought to life with the most metal character designs Powerhouse Animation can contain in the frame, this is the Masters of the Universe story you always wanted to see as a kid!Dino-Ray Ramos Deadline
