Fans think Godzilla and Kong are teaming up to fight Mechagodzilla.
The Godzilla vs. Kong trailer is finally here and may have teased the appearance of Mechagodzilla in the upcoming MonsterVerse movie. Mechagodzilla first appeared in 1974 in the Japanese movie Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla, the 14th movie in the Godzilla franchise. Godzilla vs. Kong, the fourth film in Legendary’s MonsterVerse series, could have villains returning as Godzilla’s nemesis, and the robot’s appearance might also explain why Godzilla started attacking people.
The first 10 seconds of the trailer has what looks like a Godzilla-style creature besieging the area. Except, the last time we searched, Godzilla didn’t have bright red eyes. Our knowledge of Kaiju would indicate that it is actually a robotic kaiju, a robotic creation, theoretically operated by the mysterious group Monarch.
Furthering the idea is another shot later in the Godzilla vs. Kong trailer. There, the computer screen has very clearly displayed the blueprint for Mecha beast in the background. See Below.
Starring Millie Bobbie Brown, Alexander Skarsgard, Rebecca Hall, and Brian Tyree Henry, Godzilla vs. Kong hits theaters and HBO Max hits on March 26.
