One Piece Manga Alternative – Yu Yu Hakusho
When Yusuke Urameshi, a teenager, is killed while saving the life of a child, he is returned to the human realm as an Underworld Detective. When the young man is thrust into this position, he begins to investigate cases involving demons and supernatural forces.
What’s fascinating here is that the universe in question is normal, with magical creatures lurking in the shadows. Because of the smaller scale, each episode features a new journey for the central protagonist as newer creatures are discovered.
Hunter x Hunter
Hunter x Hunter (ハンター×ハンター) is one of Japan’s greatest highly regarded ongoing manga series, first made public in 1998 by Weekly Shonen Jump which later featured the One Piece Manga. There are two versions of anime adaptations: one with 62 episodes that aired between 1999 and 2001, and the other with three OVA (Original Video Animation) series that aired from 2012 to 2014.
The plot revolves around a young boy named Gon Freecss, who travels around the world in quest of his father, Ging Freecss. As his patriarch had done, Gon decides to become a licensed Hunter and develops by training and fighting with a variety of opposing villains.
Magi: The Labyrinth Of Magic
Despite the fact that the anime is set in a mystical realm, it features a cast of characters from 1001 Arabian Nights. Alibaba, Aladdin, and Sinbad are just a few of the characters who play major roles in this enthralling and surrealistic story.
A 37-volume fantasy action manga series that ran on Weekly Shonen Sunday from 2009 to 2017. From 2012 to 2014, an anime adaptation was made with two seasons and 50 episodes. It is set in a fictional old world where exploring Dungeons will lead to the discovery of treasures and the acquisition of a special skill. Aladdin, the central protagonist, travels the globe with Ugo, a mystical bird. The plot continues when he encounters Alibaba, a young child.
Rave Master (Rave) is an epic fantasy manga that ran from 1999 to 2005 in Weekly Shonen Magazine (where the one piece manga is published). Hiro Mashima, the manga artist behind the iconic modern manga Fairy Story, wrote the 35-volume manga. In 2001-2002, an anime adaptation was made.
Haru Glory, a silver-haired sword-wielding adolescent, inherits the role of Rave Master, the individual who possesses the power of the mythical Rave Stones, objects capable of killing the Dark Brings. The Overdrive, on the other hand, dispersed the many Rave Stones around the globe, enabling Demon Card to continue their misdeeds.
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
In the One Piece Manga alternative, the world’s population has been forced underground in a future where Earth is dominated by Lordgenome, the iron-fisted Spiral King. Simon and Kamina, two teen brothers (not literally), have great dreams to see the earth and the sky, so they flee to the surface to battle the dictator’s powers and conquer the land above ground.
The show features various mecha battles against the villainous Gunmen, but it is more than just giant mechanical battles. Gurren Lagann combines an entertaining adventure with a considerable emotional weight that will linger in the minds of audiences long after they have seen it. Most engrossingly, it revolves around a cast of dynamic characters who entertain the idea to pursue their goals.
Asta, an orphan who feels alone in a village where everyone has magical abilities, is the protagonist of the series. Despite his lack of inherent talent, Asta eventually learns how to use magic, sparking a rivalry with another young man who is naturally gifted with magic.
The series’ main focus is on the characters’ rivalry and the bonds that develop between them. The anime gives viewers ample justification to stick around with a main character whose heroes’ path is transparent.
You have to admit, the One Piece manga is a little odd because the pirates featured on the show aren’t your typical people; some have special abilities, while others are just extraordinary people. Gintama is a similarly inventive shounen anime. Aliens have taken over the land in the late Edo period, and swords have been restricted to prevent any uprisings. Gintoki Sakata is a samurai who is fighting their alien overlords and changing the reality of the situation with his kin!
Since 1997, Weekly Shonen Jump has serialized the One Piece manga, a series written and illustrated with 97 volumes released until October 2020. The first episode of its anime adaptation premiered in 1999, and it is known for being the longest anime series to have aired in the United States. Since 2000, over ten anime spin-off films have been produced.
