Slam Dunk Legendary Basketball Anime Is Getting A Movie 2 Decades Later

Slam Dunk

Slam Dunk Anime is getting a new movie. Series creator Inoue Takehiko took to Twitter for the announcement.

Shortly after lunch on Thursday, Takehiko Inoue, the producer of the series, casually and cryptically tweeted “Slam Dunk will become a film,” along with a GIF pencil sketch transmitting the same message.

You may think this would be a cause for Slam Dunk fans to cheer instantaneously, but a question remained. With anime and manga live-action adaptations becoming more and more popular, will the film be live-action or animated?

The explanation for such an unforeseen decision for a new film is not known, but it may be due to the insane success achieved as of late by other animated films such as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train. As more updates are sure to come, stay tuned.
