A live stream for the “GA FES 2019” event on Saturday announced that author Jougi Shiraishi and illustrator Azuru’s Wandering Witch – The Journey of Elaina (Majo no Tabitabi) light novel series is getting a television anime adaptation.

It has officially gotten the green light to start production. Majo no Tabitabi or “The Journey of Elaina” as it’s known in its English translation, gets tv anime. It is a fantasy light novel that was written by Jougi Shiraishi with illustrations by Azure. The novel is about a witch that journeys around the world in relaxation. There is a teaser trailer below as well as a list of the cast that has been revealed.

An English language version of Majo no Tabitabi is in-development from Yen Press under the title Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina, with the first volume scheduled to be published on January 21, 2020. Yen Press synopsis:

Once upon a time, there was a witch named Elaina, who set off on a journey across the world. Along the way, she would meet all kinds of people, from a country full of witches to a giant in love with his own muscles-but with each meeting, Elaina would become a small part of their story, and her own world would get a little bit bigger.

Itsuki Nanao launched a manga adaptation on Square Enix’s Manga Up! app in November 2018. Square Enix published the first volume on April 12. Square Enix plans to publish the manga in English starting next year. The novel series ranked at #9 on the 2018 Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! list, and at #6 on the 2019 list. SB Creative published the first novel in April 2016 and published the 10th volume on August 9. The 11th volume will ship on November 14.
