If you thought that Game of Thrones was a literacy franchise for the ages, well you need to read The Wheel of Time. The franchise is getting its own adaptation tv series that will be a live-action. The books were written by Robert Jordan. Originally the books burst on the scene in 1990 and continued until 2013. There is all the magical tropes your heart desires as well as mythology to get lost in. There is even some Eastern style mysticism mixed into the story.
Amazon has officially put in an order for The Wheel of Time in October. They announced that the series shows will run an hour long each. According to Deadline, you will have to have an Amazon Prime account if you want to watch it. Since April 2017, there have been moves to secure the deal itself. When we first found out about it, Sony Pictures was moving forward with the project.
The project’s timeframe was seen in the trade magazine Production Weekly and discussed on the fan site The Daily
As Sharon Tal Yguado, Head of Event Series, Amazon Originals states:
“Developing and producing Robert Jordan’s beloved fourteen-books-series for TV is a big undertaking, and we don’t take it lightly. We believe that Rafe’s personal connection to the material and soulful writing will resonate with the book’s passionate fans.”
