Pikachu and Eevee Continue to Take over Tokyo Baskin Robbins

On the 1st of August, Tokyo Baskin Robbins (also known locally as 31, because it has a flavor for each day of the month) started selling Pokemon-themed ice cream treats! Are you as excited as we are?

The chain has gone all the way in. Preceding the annual Yokohama Pikachu summer takeover, Baskin Robbins and Pokemon have teamed up to make a new Pikachu flavor, 2 ice cream cakes (Pikachu and Eevee), new boxes, character cups, and a Pokemon box for the variety packs.

The Pikachu flavor ice cream will be available for a limited time, but we don’t know how long for, so best to get your paws on one asap. There are as many yellowish fruits as your average poke-fan can name in the fruit punch flavor: pineapple, yellow peach, banana, apple, and orange. The little red, Pikachu cheek flecks are popping candy (which Baskin Robbins does so well), and there are, of course, bonus Pikachu heads in there to munch on. It’s “shocking” how good this looks!

The real icing on the cake has got to be that the two new ice cream cakes that come in Eevee and Pikachu designs, are a permanent addition to the menu. At nearly 6 inches, it retails at 3,300 yen (about $30). While they are likely designed to be a party cake, there’s definitely a few of us that will be eating it all to ourselves.

The Eevee cake uses caramel ribbon and milk chocolate ice cream flavors and is covered in chocolate icing, while the Pikachu cake uses the famous Popping Shower flavor for that Pikachu spark, and strawberry (where else would the sparks come from if not the red cheeks?!).

Both will come in this new box designed specifically for the Pokemon cakes. But if a whole cake seems like too much for you, then check out the variety pack with its own new box to house your 6 flavors.

As if that wasn’t enough Pokemon, if you order your ice cream in a cup you can choose (yes, they have decided to forgo gacha randomness for this one!) if you’d like Pikachu, Mew, or Mewtwo to hold your ice cream for you. They even come with a Pikachu spoon (which IS random). If you have a particular cup craving, it’s probably best to get to a Baskin Robbins pretty quick.

Find Maisy on Twitter or her website, where she will undoubtedly be on an adventure to catch all the ice cream cakes ever.
